Diamond Aspirations I for Las Vegas grinders

WSOP.com players and other casino players should be aware of the Diamond Aspirations I vacation available to them through the Total Rewards program. 40,000 points can be reached even by an NL50 grinder, with or without other play in the casinos.

The Diamond Aspiration I provides a 4-night stay at a Total Rewards property including a $100 folio credit (anything charged to the room). This article will provide some tips for booking and enjoying this getaway. It is aimed at the Las Vegas WSOP.com grinder but can be useful for any Total Rewards member.

Few Blackout Dates, if any

You may find it astonishing that this package can be booked at most properties any time of the year. I used mine at Lake Tahoe over New Year’s Eve, and I got the impression that using it in Las Vegas over New Year’s would have been possible. So if you’ve been wanting to take that special trip over Memorial Day, New Year’s, or the 4th of July but didn’t want to pay increased room rates, this could be your opportunity.

How to Book

You will need to contact a host to book this package. One way is to call the property you wish to stay at and ask to speak to a casino host there. You can also call the VIP Hotline at 1-877-775-2937.

Do not call the main reservations line trying to book this, they may not even be aware of Diamond Aspirations.

The Folio Credit

The Folio Credit is $100 that will be applied to anything charged to the room. Keep in mind, this does not include Tips. At most resorts, this will not be enough to cover 4 days of eating, though many have low cost options such as a food court.

Lake Tahoe from Harrah's

Lake Tahoe

For Las Vegas WSOP.com players, taking a getaway at Lake Tahoe is a no-brainer. Lake Tahoe is about a 7 hour drive from Las Vegas and it’s casino and hotel experience will be familiar but it provides a strikingly different backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains and blue waters of Lake Tahoe.

Visiting in the summer allows for numerous outdoor activities from hiking and mountain biking to boating and lake cruises.  For the physically fit, the 8 mile roundtrip hike to Mt Tallac will provide one of the best views in the Sierras. For the more casual, mountain bikes can be rented nearby the hotel and paths exist that circle the lake (though the entire circuit may take a while).

For the best value however, visiting Lake Tahoe during ski season for your Diamond Aspiration allows you to skip some normally high priced rooms. Heavenly ski resort lies within walking distance and boasts miles of runs.

Southern California

Nestled in the rural southern California hills east of the bustling cities of Los Angeles and San Diego is Harrahs Southern California Rincon. An agreement between Total Rewards and the Rincon tribe allows for this Vegas Style Resort to exist.

While the casino may also feel very familiar, the is a casual feel to staying here that may relax the Las Vegas grinder. But the main reason for visiting this hotel for your Diamond Aspiration is the proximity to the attractions of San Diego, being less than an hours drive from downtown, Sea World, and the zoo. Especially don’t miss the San Diego Safari Park which is less than a 30 minute drive.

Honorable Mentions

Reno Downtown holds some good deals for the frugal gambler!

Reno is another possibility for the Diamond Aspiration and could be an option for an avid casino goer. Reno boasts a large number of budget casinos in the downtown area that may allow the smart grinder to take advantage of casino players card signup bonuses.

Phoenix has a small Total Rewards resort that will allow you to see the attractions in and around that area.

Las Vegas! Sure, take a Staycation. Set yourself up at a nice suite at Caesars and party! Just be careful, Las Vegas knows how to extract that cash from locals as well as tourists.
